A Second Life for Step-and-Repeats
Step-and-repeat backdrops—once the photo-op heart of red carpet events—often end up in landfills after hours of use. Manny saw this overlooked waste stream as an opportunity to spark real, visible change. Each tracksuit in the capsule is made from repurposed banners, giving new life to what was once considered disposable.
This collection doesn’t just speak to waste reduction—it speaks to creative survival.
“Fashion can be a coping mechanism,” says Jackson. “It’s tactile, expressive, and therapeutic. It’s something you can do with your pain. This project reminds us: even what’s discarded has value—and so do we.”
